Speaker Lineup
Hear from leading experts in property, investing, and wealth creation as they share practical insights and real-world experience.

You've Done the Hard Part Already
You provide well for your family. You earn a good income.
You may already have KiwiSaver, a mortgage, savings, a rental property, managed funds or investments sitting somewhere in the background.
From the outside, you’re doing pretty well.
But there’s a question that can be surprisingly difficult to answer: Are you actually on track for the financial future you want?
Because earning a high income doesn’t automatically create wealth. And having investments doesn’t necessarily mean they’re working together as a strategy.
You can be earning $200,000, $300,000 or more as a household and still reach your 50s wondering:
“Are we doing enough?”
“Could we retire earlier if we approached this differently?”
“Should our next dollar go towards the mortgage, property, KiwiSaver or investments?”
“Are we taking the right amount of risk?”
“What does our current strategy actually look like 10 or 20 years from now?”
That’s the gap this session is designed to address.
Not how to save your first $100. Not how to become a day trader. Not another seminar telling you to skip your daily coffee.
It’s about what to do once earning and saving are no longer the problem.

What If You Could Actually See Where Your Money Is Taking You?
Most people make financial decisions one at a time. A KiwiSaver contribution here. A mortgage payment there. Maybe an investment property. Maybe some shares. Maybe some money sitting in the bank waiting for the “right time.”
The problem is that it’s difficult to see how all of those decisions interact over the next 10, 15 or 20 years. That’s why we’re going to put the numbers on the screen.
During the event, we’ll take a realistic household example and model two different financial futures. You’ll see:
Where you’re heading now, if you continue with your existing approach. What could happen with a structured strategy. When property, investment funds, KiwiSaver, debt and cash flow are considered together. The difference between the two trajectories. Not as a vague promise — but by putting the numbers side by side.
Because sometimes the biggest financial breakthrough isn’t earning more. It’s understanding what to do with what you already earn.
What's Your Financial Dream?
For some people it's walking away from work in their 50s, not because they have to, but because they finally can. For others it's the day the last mortgage payment clears and that monthly weight lifts. Or perhaps it is exciting lifestyle goals such as travelling every quarter or volunteering your time to your favourite chairty.
Whatever yours looks like, it's not out of reach — it's a plan away. You already know that you are intelligent, hardworking, and earning well. What's usually missing isn't money, it's a simple strategy: how to build enough capital to generate passive income.
Because “we’re doing pretty well” isn’t a financial plan.

What You'll Actually Learn
01. The Live Modeling Session: Watch the Numbers Change in Real Time
This is where the theory becomes real. We’ll take a realistic household example:
Combined household income: $200,000
Mortgage: $500,000
Combined KiwiSaver: $60,000
Then we’ll model two different approaches.
Scenario One: What happens if they keep doing what they’re currently doing?
Scenario Two: What could their financial trajectory look like with a structured investment strategy?
We’ll compare different combinations of:
-
Property vs investment funds
-
Debt reduction vs investing
-
KiwiSaver and other investments
-
Cash flow and ongoing contributions
And you’ll see the numbers change in real time.
Not because one strategy is automatically right for everyone.
But because seeing the difference can help you understand why having a strategy matters.
02. Property - Where Does It Fit?
Property can be a powerful part of a wealth-building strategy — but it isn’t automatically the right answer for everyone.
You’ll hear from experienced property professionals and our own financial advisers about:
✔ What makes an investment property potentially suitable for an investor
✔ How location, demand, rental income, development and future growth can affect an investment
✔ What to look for — and what to be cautious about — when assessing an opportunity
✔ How equity in your existing home may potentially be used as part of an investment strategy
✔ The opportunities and risks investors should consider over the next 5–10 years
✔ Real examples of property opportunities currently available in the market
You’ll hear directly from:
Aurelie Le Gall — General Manager, Fletcher Living
Leon Da-Silva — Managing Director, DaSilva Residential
Anél Mostert — Business Development Manager, Ray White Hamilton Property Management
And from our own financial advisers on when property investment actually makes sense as part of a wider financial strategy.

03. Investment Funds - Understand What's Actually Possible
Property isn’t the only way to build wealth.
We’ll also look at investment funds and how they can potentially complement property, KiwiSaver and other assets.
You’ll learn:
✔ How investment funds work and where they can fit into a long-term strategy
✔ How to think about risk, diversification and time horizons
✔ What historical performance can — and cannot — tell you
✔ How to start investing regularly, including examples from as little as $50 per week
✔ How small, consistent contributions can compound over time
✔ The questions you should be asking before choosing an investment
You’ll also hear directly from:
Thom Bentley — SuperLife, with more than 35 years’ experience across the investment management industry.
We’ll look at real historical fund performance, including examples of funds that have delivered double-digit returns over certain periods.
Past performance is not a guarantee of future results.
Plus, the decisions that quietly cost people the most.
There are plenty of reasons people delay investing.
"I need to pay off my debt first." "I need a bigger emergency fund." "What if I lose it all?" And my favourite: "I'll start later."
Some of these decisions can be sensible in the right circumstances. But sometimes they’re simply ways of putting off a decision because the numbers feel complicated.
We’ll take some of the most common investing assumptions and put them into numbers. You’ll see what waiting could potentially cost over time — and what starting earlier can potentially change.
No scare tactics. No promises. Just the maths.

Don't Just Take Our Word For It
See what attendees loved about our last event and why they're glad they joined.
This Is For You If...

01. You're earning a six-figure household income with $500--$1,000 a month you could be investing --- and no real plan for where it should go.
02. You're a working professional, time-poor, with no MBA in finance and no interest in day-trading or watching the markets for hours a day.
03. You've thought about early retirement, or becoming mortgage-free --- and you want to know what it would actually take to get there.
04. You're hoarding your savings in the bank, waiting for the "perfect" time to act --- while that cash quietly loses its purchasing power.

This isn't a sales pitch.
We know what you may be thinking:“Is this just a seminar where I’m going to be sold an investment property?”
No.
You’ll hear from people across property and investment because we believe you should understand different sides of the wealth-building equation.
And while you’ll hear about real opportunities and real investment strategies, you will not be asked to purchase anything on the day.
No pressure. No hard sell.
No expectation that property, funds or any particular investment is right for you.
The goal is education and clarity.
You can then decide what, if anything, you want to do next.
Meet the People Behind the Numbers
Why we’re bringing all of these people into one room? Because real wealth isn’t about becoming obsessed with one asset class. It’s about understanding how different parts of your financial life can potentially work together.
Property. Investment funds. KiwiSaver. Debt. Cash flow. Time. And most importantly: Your goals.
You don’t need to become an expert in all of them. You need to understand enough to make better decisions.

Financial Adviser & Co-Founder
Diamond Property & Wealth
Maria Temnyuk
Maria isn't coaching from a distance. Before co-founding Diamond Property & Wealth, she was a single mum with $85,000 of consumer debt, no savings, and a half-a-million-dollar mortgage — she knows exactly what it feels like to want the lifestyle before you've built the wealth to support it. She turned that around, paid off the debt, and built an investment portfolio on track to let her retire in her early-to-mid fifties — and she's spent every year since helping other working professionals do the same. What sets Maria apart is her ability to take genuinely complex financial systems and turn them into simple, practical knowledge her clients can actually use — and act on. She has a gift for making money management and investing feel less like homework and more like something you're excited to be part of. Sit in a room with Maria and you won't be checking your watch — you'll be taking notes and rethinking what's actually possible for your own money. Maria holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & International Business) from the University of Auckland, is a licensed financial adviser and financial coach, and is a member of Financial Advice NZ and the Financial Dispute Resolution Service (FSP434706 ). Since 2016, she and co-founder Craig Johnson have worked with households across New Zealand — helping clients turn six-figure incomes into genuine seven-figure net worths.

Real Clients, Real Outcomes
When you get your strategy right, this is what could be possible. These are individual client stories, not guaranteed results — but they'll give you a sense of what's genuinely possible with the right plan and enough time.
✔ A client in her 70s built $115,000 in passive income over 2 years from an existing portfolio, without changing her lifestyle.
✔ A couple in their early 30s bought their first investment property and built $26,000 in investment funds within a year.
✔ A professional couple in their early 40s grew their KiwiSaver by $120,000, purchased an investment property, and added a further $35,000 across funds and ETFs.
✔ A couple in their late 30s bought two investment properties and restructured their portfolio, moving from a lower-return, lower-diversification position into a more actively managed strategy.
✔ A professional woman in her mid-50s went from consumer debt and no investments beyond KiwiSaver to debt-free with an investment portfolio and a new rental property, within 18 months.
✔ A couple in their early 40s and early 50s moved their financial position by roughly $206,000 over 12 months of financial coaching — without a lottery win or income jump — while also shifting their mortgage-free timeline from 23–24 years down to around 12, saving an estimated $230,000 in interest.
None of these clients worked longer hours or gave up their lifestyle to get there — the difference was having a clear, structured plan.
Individual results vary based on personal circumstances, starting position, risk tolerance, and market conditions. These examples are shared to illustrate what's possible, not as a guarantee or typical outcome for every attendee.

Common Questions
Where do you want to be in 10 years?
Imagine looking back ten years from now.
Your income may have increased.
Your mortgage may be smaller.
Your KiwiSaver may be considerably larger.
Your investments may have grown.
Or perhaps nothing much has changed because you kept waiting for the right time.
The difference isn’t always income. It’s often what you decide to do with the income you already have.
You don’t need to predict the market.
You don’t need to become an investment expert.
You don’t need to have everything figured out today.
But you do need to know where you’re going.
Beyond the Basics is designed to help you understand the options, see the numbers and start thinking about your wealth as one connected strategy rather than a collection of separate financial decisions.
If you’re earning well but still aren’t completely sure whether you’re on track, this is the conversation to have.
